Lucy Gowdie is the Head of School at the Inter-Community School in Zurich, Switzerland and Chair of the Boards of the Swiss Group of International Schools. Her belief in ambitious teaching and powerful learning is underpinned by her schools two decade connection to NEASC, an association she believes captures the true meaning of accreditation. With a Masters degree in International Education and Policy from the University of Sydney, she believes that schools will only achieve the outcomes they desire when they write policies that drive powerful processes to enhance purposeful practice. She is a staunch proponent of the NEASC Collaborative Learning Protocols and has embedded the ACE Learning Principles within her strategic roadmap. This two year journey from accreditation to implementation has transformed the school community in Zurich and driven them to a place of purpose, the most important place of all – the one of impact.
