Diane brings to her NEASC work, broad experience as a superintendent, management consultant, and leadership development consultant in a wide range of settings. She has led accreditation visiting teams in Asia, India, Africa, South America, Central America, and Europe. Prior to becoming an International Accreditation Leader for NEASC, Diane served as Vice Chair of the NEASC Commission on International Education.
Formerly Superintendent of the Simsbury, CT Public Schools, Diane also served as Chief Talent Officer for the Connecticut State Department of Education, and Director of the University of Connecticut principal preparation program UCAPP). As a Senior Advisor for the District Management Group, Diane led work in all regions of the United States in areas such as leadership development, human capital management, strategic planning, resource allocation, and school and district turnaround efforts.
Diane’s passion lies in leadership development, with a focus on executive leadership. Diane is a professional development facilitator, mentor and coach for school and district leaders in Connecticut. Diane was co-founder and Director of the Advanced Instructional Leadership Development Program for principals, a partnership with the University of Connecticut, the Queen Rania Teacher Academy, and the Jordan Ministry of Education.
Diane has a PhD in Educational Leadership from the University of Colorado, Boulder, a master’s degree from Northeastern University and a bachelor’s degree from Regis College. She co-authored Learning Personalized: Evolution of the Contemporary Classroom. In 2012, Diane was named Connecticut Superintendent of the Year and is a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. Diane lives in the Boston area with her husband and spends every free moment with her three children, their spouses, and her grandchildren on the beach.
